MRT-3 Quezon Avenue Station

Missing Accessible Features

There is a general set of standards that people put when stations are labeled as accessible. The uncomfortable truth is, we’re not truly there yet. While certain features are universally implemented, others are universally overlooked. All MRT-3 stations lack tactile paving, LED screens for dynamic information, and other features that would help those with visual, and hearing disabilites.

More about the Station

Quezon Avenue Station has one of the most barrier-free entrances you will find in today’s landscape. Its entrance and exit points are not only easily accessible, but the continuity in space beyond the station allows for those with wheelchairs to navigate their surrounding much better than some of the other stations in the MRT-3 line. This station meets most of the standards with working elevators and their accompanying ramps, staff assisted boarding, though only a booth in the southbound platform can be seen, and a waiting zone for PWDs, seniors, and pregnant women, although it can only be found in the southbound platform again.
