MRT-3 Buendia Station

Missing Accessible Features

There is a general set of standards that people put when stations are labeled as accessible. The uncomfortable truth is, we’re not truly there yet. While certain features are universally implemented, others are universally overlooked. All MRT-3 stations lack tactile paving, LED screens for dynamic information, and other features that would help those with visual, and hearing disabilites.

More about the Station

Buendia Station is the second underground station right after Ayala, and has a single platform for both the northbound and southbound trains. There are two elevators inside the station, but it’s the only station that’s being flagged for not having any continuity to the entrance / exit. There are no ramps, and there aren’t any proper exits if you or a family member is wheelchair-bound. The station meets all the other MRT-3 accessibility standards with staff that are equipped to assist you, help desks, and designated waiting zones on each of the platform.
