MRT-3 Ayala Station

Missing Accessible Features

There is a general set of standards that people put when stations are labeled as accessible. The uncomfortable truth is, we’re not truly there yet. While certain features are universally implemented, others are universally overlooked. All MRT-3 stations lack tactile paving, LED screens for dynamic information, and other features that would help those with visual, and hearing disabilites.

More about the Station

Ayala Station is one of the two stations in the MRT-3 line that’s situated underground. With two floors of stairs and escalators, it’s a long trudge for just about anyone.

This station complies with much of the current MRT-3 standards with their universal signage colors of blue and yellow, their elevator which has a separate entrance from the Ayala One mall, and most importantly, their staff who are trained to accommodate Persons with Disabilities. At the rightmost corner of the northbound platform are also designated waiting zones for PWD, Seniors, and Pregnant Women.
